Day Guest Number 2
Satellite 5 is delighted to announce that our second Day Guest is Martin Hendry, Professor of Gravitational Astrophysics and Cosmology at the University of Glasgow. Martin is a member of the LIGO collaboration and one of the scientists involved in the recent discovery of gravitational waves.

LARP The Tunnel
Satellite 5 will feature The Tunnel, a futuristic LARP set after a crash in a train tunnel connecting America to Britain in the year 2372.

So said Russian billionaire Yuri Milner at a press conference on Tuesday (12th April). Beside him were sitting Stephen Hawking, Freeman Dyson, and other luminaries.
So, a micro-satellite? Not just that... in combination with cutting-edge metamaterials, Project Starshot intends to have laser-assisted, lightsail-propelled probes flying by Alpha Centauri within 25 years, at a cost that, thanks to the economies of scale, seems ridiculously low.
